Dear sixth grade art students

On behalf of the 720,000 Americans now living with a blood related cancer I want to say a big THANK YOU!

Your bird houses project has made us one step closer to finding a cure to these dreaded diseases. Your bird houses were beautifully prepared, and will bring joy to whoever purchased them. Most importantly they have brought genuine hope to patients and their families. The genuine hope for a cure and a comfort knowing that people like you, are generously sacrificing your time and talents to help them.

You may not know today, what a big deal it is. However, one day in the not to distant future, but definitely one day in your life, you will hear the greatest news.

When you hear the news that a new and better treatment for Leukemia, Lymphoma or any of the blood cancers has been discovered, and especially, when you hear that cures have been found. I hope you remember your sixth grade bird house project with pride.

When it happens, you can proudly say, “I was part of finding that cure, I made that happen.”

Sincerely
